What causes Gel Polish to lift?
Incorrect prepping of the natural nail:
- Cuticle left on the nail plate, especially if you have lifting at the cuticle area.
- Not properly cleaning or dehydrating the nail plate prior to application. No dirt, oil or dust should be left on the natural nail.
- Preforming a wet manicure before applying the Lola Lee Gel Polish, or washing your hands shortly before application of Lola Lee Gel Polish.
- If the natural nail is damaged or split prior to the Gel Polish Application.
During the application of the Gel Polish
- The Gel Polish has been applied too thick.
- Applying the Gel Polish on the cuticle and lateral folds of skin next to the nail. The product should be applied 1mm away from the cuticle and sidewalls of the nail.
Does the Lola Lee Gel Polish need to be used with a base coat?
- If you are applying the Lola Lee Gel Polish onto your natural nail, YES you do need to use a base coat, our base coat for hands is called Lola Lee Brush On Gel. Lola Lee Brush On Gel is best suited as a base coat for hands and it comes in clear and 10 tinted colours to choose from.
- If you are applying the Lola Lee Gel Polish over acrylic or builder gel then you don’t need to apply a base, ensure that the product applied prior is buffed and shine free for good adhesion.
Do you need to use a Gel Polish Top Coat with Lola Lee Gel Polish?
The Gel Polish Top Coat will create a long-lasting high shine. This product helps avoid scratches and dulling of the colour.
How should Lola Lee Gel Polish be removed?
- Use a 100/180 grit file to break the surface of the Lola Lee Top Coat. Try get as much of the Top Coat off as possible. This will enable an easier soak off. This can be tricky as it is clear. Once completed, apply Lola Lee Acetone to a Lola Lee nail Wipe and place the soaked wipe over the Lola Lee Gel Polish and wrap your nail with foil allowing the acetone to soak off the gel polish.
After 10-12 minutes the gel polish should start to soften, remove the foil and wipe and GENTLY remove the Gel Polish with a Lola Lee Cuticle Pusher. Be careful not to scape your natural nail. If necessary wrap the nail again and soak a bit longer.
Does the Lola Lee Top Coat have a tacky layer once cured?
NO, this is a tack-free Top Coat. If it is still tacky then it has not been cured long enough.
Is Lola Lee Gel Polish easier to apply than traditional nail polish?
We would say, YES!!! I’m sure you all know that nail polish gets sticky when you work with it too much on your nail, trying to perfect your application. Lola Lee Gel Polish will never get sticky and you can take as long as you like to perfect the application.
Does Gel Polish damage your natural nail?
No, when you apply Lola Lee Gel Polish only the natural shine of the natural nail is removed by gently buffing your nail. If you over buff your nail you damage your nail plate, leaving it thinner and weaker. Proper removal will not damage your nail either. If you pick Lola Lee Gel Polish off your nails, you WILL damage your natural nail.
How do you remove Lola Lee Gel Polish off acrylic or gel extensions?
If you are wanting to keep the Lola Lee Acrylic or Lola Lee Brush On Gel under the existing Lola Lee Gel Polish, you will need to gently file off the Lola Lee Gel Polish Top Coat and Lola Lee Gel Polish Colour with a 100/180 grit file, gently blending the base product into the natural nail to prep the natural nail and remaining product, once done reapply a thin layer of the Lola Lee Brush On Gel/ Lola Lee Acrylic and proceed to Lola Lee Gel Polish Colour and then Lola Lee Gel Polish Top Coat.
Why is the Top Coat still sticky after curing it for the correct time?
- The lifetime of your globes may have expired
- Your lamp could be faulty.
24 WATT Lola Lee Lamp - Curing Time 1 min
48 WATT Lola Lee Lamp - Curing Time 30 seconds
Can Lola Lee Gel Polish be used on your toes?
- Yes, definitely. The great thing about Lola Lee Gel Polish on toes is that it lasts much longer than on your finger nails. This is because you don’t use your toe nails as tools like many people use their finger nails.
- Keep in mind it take 6 months for your finger nails to completely grow out and 1 to 1.5 years for your toe nails to grow out completely.
Why are my nails weak?
- It is crital to moisturize your nails at least once a day. Failure to this can result in weakness, dryness and breaks or splits- Lola Lee Cuticle oil is a must and should be applied at least twice a day.
Why should I have a neat application?
Product applied untidily will result in lifting if it is applied onto the skin or cuticle. Once the nail grows out this will cause lifting. Secondly one should minimize contact of the uncured product with the skin.
How do I apply glitter on Lola Lee Gel Polish?
This is called DRYBRUSHING, using A Lola Lee Nail Art Brush, ensure that the bristles are dry, dip the brush into the glitter and brush it onto the tacky/sticky colour, gently brush until the all the loose glitter pieces are removed. Once Completed apply Lola Lee Top Coat. If your glitter has a bumpy finish cap the glitter with Lola Lee Brush On Gel Clear and cure and proceed to Lola Lee Top Coat.
